So … one year I was inspired to do one of those photo a day for 365 days projects. I made it til about August and then petered out—there were lots of photos of whatever I was making for dinner that night as well.
Anyway, on day 2—January 2, in fact, I took this photo. It’s of the inside of the clothes drier.
The Mausoleum of Tunisian President Habib Bourguiba. I couldn’t help but find it quite ironic that a man who spent most of his tenure trying to remove Islam from public life designed himself a massive mausoleum that resembles the most classical Islamic shrines (including an in-your-face evocation of the Dome of the Rock).
